Tight, like into a dish

The Book of Ether, in the book of scripture entitled, “The Book of Mormon” tells of a group of people called the Jaredites who travel from the old world to the new world (or the American Continent) in special barges that the brother of Hared had learned to build, from the Lord Himself.  They weren’t built like boats had previously been built, but were “tight like unto a dish”.

Ether 6:7 And it came to pass that when they were buried in the deep there was no water that could hurt them, their vessels being tight like unto a dish, and also they were tight like unto the ark of Noah; therefore when they were encompassed about by many waters they did cry unto the Lord, and he did bring them forth again upon the top of the waters.

Think of the Alvin Maker books (Seventh Son, Red Prophet, Alvin Journeyman etc.) and how the wood was actually, physically fused, like metal, or grew together, like living wood...

Read those books.  Pretty ingenious.

Belated 10-Year-Anniversary-Cruise

You made me mad or made me feel bad!

It’s funny or sad, I guess, how often I hear people say (even and most especially those I love and am with the most) that something that was done or said, “made them mad” or “made them sad”.

I don’t remember being able to choose for them or remember having had control over their emotions and decided for them how to feel.  I actually don’t want that kind of power!  When I have been perfected and have all power, wisdom, grace, knowledge, mercy, long-suffering, patience, and godliness.  Even if you are calling me a god, and have all of those qualities, you are forgetting about one thing that necessarily accompanies those qualities: a reverence and respect for agency!

In other words, God, Our Eternal Father, is a God that already possesses all of those qualities and characteristics and possesses them all perfectly.  He cannot allow any of His children to make choices for any of His other children.

Stop denying God’s characteristics and stop claiming powers that you couldn’t have.

Just stop it.
