31.1.18

Tragically ironic or sacrilegious jab?

In Alma, 30, verse 13, we read:

13 O ye that are bound down under a foolish and a vain hope, why do ye yoke yourselves with such foolish things? Why do ye look for a Christ? For no man can know of anything which is to come.

Tragically ironic to use that word?  The only way we can enter the Celestial Kingdom, return to our father’s presence, clean and redeemed, IS yoked to Jesus Christ!  No...  not tragically ironic, but intentionally used to metaphorically spit on the Savior’s head and tries to corrupt a perfect symbol for how we are saved!
